Transparent Pie. The stuff of dreams. My wonderful Great Grandad brought this recipe from Kentucky when he moved to Missouri somewhere around the turn of the century. We've been making it ever since!
3 c sugar, 3 T flour, 4 eggs, 1 stick melted butter, 1/2 c cream, 1 c whole milk, 1 T vanilla. Mix all and pour into two unbaked pie shells. Bake at 350 "till not shaky" according to Grandad. So good you'll exclaim, "Hot diggity!," just like him.
